The Fastwarm® Tile Backer Board is a premium insulation panel designed to optimise the efficiency of Fastwarm® 150w/200w/cable underfloor heating systems. This 12.5mm version provides enhanced thermal performance while still maintaining a manageable board thickness for various floor builds.
Lightweight, rigid, and simple to shape with a utility knife, it’s ideal for both new builds and retrofits. Its high compressive strength and moisture resistance ensure a secure and long-lasting subfloor base for tiles.
Boards can be bonded with adhesive on solid floors or mechanically fixed to timber subfloors, providing flexibility across installation types.
- Waterproof – Fully waterproof construction, approved by Ultra Tile adhesive manufacturers.
- High Insulation Performance – Thermal conductivity of just 0.034 W/mK helps minimise heat loss.
- Excellent Sound Insulation – Improves acoustic comfort in any room.
- Ultra-Lightweight & Easy to Cut – Easily trimmed on-site with a utility knife.
- Strong & Durable – Supports compression loads up to 30 tonnes per m².
- Multi-Surface Application – Suitable for walls and floors (follow correct installation methods).
- Flexible Installation Options – Mechanically fix to timber or bond to solid subfloors with adhesive.
- Standard Size – Each board measures 1200 x 600 mm (0.72m²).
This board is 12.5mm thick — ideal for improved insulation without excessive floor build-up. For a 10m² space, you'll typically need 14 boards.
Please note: Use a flexible tile adhesive with all floor types. Mechanical fixing is also required for timber installations at 300mm spacing.
