The Fastwarm® 50mm Tile Backer Board is our thickest and most thermally efficient option — ideal for projects where maximum insulation is critical. Engineered for performance, it’s the perfect partner for Fastwarm® electric underfloor heating installations in colder environments or over large concrete subfloors.
Despite its substantial thickness, it remains lightweight and manageable on-site. The board cuts easily and installs cleanly, offering superior support and moisture resistance under tiled surfaces.
Install over timber using screws and washers, or over solid floors with flexible tile adhesive.
- Waterproof – Fully waterproof construction, approved by Ultra Tile adhesive manufacturers.
- High Insulation Performance – Thermal conductivity of just 0.034 W/mK helps minimise heat loss.
- Excellent Sound Insulation – Improves acoustic comfort in any room.
- Ultra-Lightweight & Easy to Cut – Easily trimmed on-site with a utility knife.
- Strong & Durable – Supports compression loads up to 30 tonnes per m².
- Multi-Surface Application – Suitable for walls and floors (follow correct installation methods).
- Flexible Installation Options – Mechanically fix to timber or bond to solid subfloors with adhesive.
- Standard Size – Each board measures 1200 x 600 mm (0.72m²).
At 50mm thick, this board provides the highest insulation level in our range. 14 boards typically cover a 10m² floor area.
Please note: Flexible tile adhesive is essential, with mechanical fixings on timber at 300mm intervals.
