Electric Insulation Boards
Fastwarm insulation boards are essential for your system to run economically. They will reduce the loss of heat into the floor substrate allowing the system to warm up faster and prolong cool down periods, resulting in more efficient heating and lower running costs.
Fastwarm Tile Backer Boards have an extruded Polystyrene core and are covered with mesh and cement on both faces. They are ideal for use under tiles on both timber and concrete subfloors. Supplied in 6mm, 10mm, 12.5mm, 20mm, 30mm and 50mm these boards come in a standard 600mm x 1200mm dimension covering 0.72m2 per board however it is suggested to allow 10% additional for wastage.
Use the equation below to calculate your required number of boards.
m2 divided by 0.72 plus 10% for wastage = qty of boards
Fastwarm XPS is a mesh - non-coated - extruded Polystyrene board, suitable for use under tiles over concrete subfloors only or under floating wood floors on both timber and concrete substrates. Supplied in 6mm, 10mm, 20mm, 30mm and 50mm these boards come in a standard 600mm x 1200mm dimension covering 0.72m2 however it is suggested to allow 10% additional for wastage.

Fastwarm EPS insulation is an expanded Polystyrene board design to be used with Fastwarm Underwood and Carpet/Vinyl systems. Fastwarm EPS insulation are the only boards sold in packs rather than as individual sheets. Only supplied in 6mm thicknesses with each pack covering an area of 10m2. These boards are the perfect solution for a mess free floating floor install.
Please note that these panels should not be used when installing tiled floor finishes.

Water Insulation Boards
Fastwarm DUO panels are the most popular boards on the market for retro fit installations. Made from EPS400 insulation and covered with a 200 micron foil these panels allow you to install water underfloor heating in any room onto any subfloor and be covered with almost all floor coverings. Supplied in a 16mm and 20mm depth DUO Panels come in a standard 600mm x 1200mm dimension covering 0.72m2 per board.

Fastwarm SOLID18 panels are an ideal solution for retro fit installations of water systems. Made from Gypsum these panels allow you to install water underfloor heating in your property over any subfloor and be covered with almost all floor coverings. Supplied in an 18mm thickness, the panels come in a standard 600mm x 800mm dimension covering 0.48m2 per board. These pre grooved panels require Solid Returns to complete the install.

Things to consider when using these panels are the Solid Returns and Glue
1 Solid Return is required for each SOLID18 panel
1 tube of glue is required for every 10 SOLID18 Panels
